Your Productivity in Energy Management

In today’s post, I’m going to talk about your productivity in energy management.

Do you struggle to be organized and productive? Do you feel stuck in a rut, lacking motivation, and constantly tired and frustrated?

In reality, being productive does not mean being superhuman, nor does it mean waiting for inspiration to come to you or waiting for it like receiving a shipment from Amazon. Our key to increasing productivity lies in mastering the art of energy management—being aware of your energy and how you use and control it.

Understanding Your Energy:

When you have a lot of work to do, it is important to realize that different activities require different types of energy. We are talking about physical, mental, emotional, and creative energy. And asking questions like:

When do you feel the most creative?

When is your focus at its best?

When do you have physical energy?

When do you always feel uplifted, and what is the thing you feel you need in those moments?

These questions may be challenging to answer if we do not give them the attention they deserve. To record your feelings, you can use a quick application like Daylio to jot down your notes.

Utilizing Energy:

Once we are aware of our energy patterns, it is time to utilize them effectively, especially during times of pressure. It is important to be honest with ourselves when creating our schedule. Not having a strict schedule that someone else might find suitable while it does not suit us can lead to feeling stressed.

For example, to make use of your energy, if you are active during the day, perform tasks that require physical energy to make the most of your active time and help you achieve your goals.

With continuous awareness, it encourages you to organize your daily and weekly routines based on your natural energy patterns. This applies to both depleting and recharging your energy.

Do not stress, but it may take time and some adjustment. But remember, the more you serve your natural energy patterns, the more chances you have to accomplish your task list, which will give you a better sense of fulfillment in the process.

Manipulating Energy:

The word manipulation might sound a bit dark, but it can be a more positive experience than it seems!

Sometimes, our energy patterns may not align with the actual responsibilities in our lives. You may have a specific deadline, commitment, or task that needs to be done at home, even when you have low energy levels and don’t have time to wait for your energy to recover. This is where activities that help improve your energy come into play.

Here are some suggestions that can be used to transform your energy into a productive state without feeling drained:

* Going for a walk outside.

* Listening to a motivating podcast or audiobook, especially if you are performing physical tasks that do not require mental attention.

* Moving to another room in the house.

* Wearing clothes that give you a different feeling, for example, wearing jeans means it’s time to engage in physically active tasks.

* Enjoying your favorite cup of tea or coffee (truly savor it and not just gulp it down).

Just a reminder, manipulating energy to accomplish tasks is a temporary measure, as it is essential to recognize when exhaustion and extreme fatigue are approaching. Taking a short walk can only take you so far. But in the end, you still need to respect and recharge your energy levels. After a brief “stress time,” make sure to rest, relax, and return to your natural timing as soon as possible.

I hope these tips prove useful in enhancing your productivity, achieving your goals, and experiencing satisfaction this year!
